Well this is an opinion statement. Mine might differ from yours.
I would say "we can't achieve happiness if we are only concerned about ourselves, do not pay attention to what God says is important, and try to set up our own rules.
We will not be happy ....would be the same thing.

not to criticize, but it sounds like your trying to give a speech. if that's the case, stay away from the negative. we can't, we will not.... are not positive things to start with if the end result is finding/achieving happiness. try these..... "in order to achieve happiness we must.... or we will be happy if......" . might be a lot easier in trying to find the right words.
