I'm old school so here's one that is great for depressing times but always cheers me up, "Where is The Love" Roberta Flack and Donnie Hathaway.

Yeah I agree don't listen to sad songs when you are depressed---Under Pressure by The Used and My Chemical Romance always makes me feel good, I even listen to Chumbawamba's I Get Knocked Down to be happy hehehe. But if you are "happy" of being sad try Rocking Horse- When Songbirds Sing, Snow Patrol- Chasing Cars, Blue October- Hate Me, 2nd Place Victory- this Day and Age, Jane Arden- Hanging by a Thread, Amos Lee- Colors, or try the songs of KEANE--- those guys are a sad lot.

well, howabout REM- I think it goes... this one goes out to the one I love, something about the one I left behind. it's been a long time since I heard it maybe someone else out there can give a better description of it.Roy Orbison"Crying", Eric Clapton "Tears from Heaven". Myself I try to listen to upbeat stuff when I'm depressed. If you're depressed enough you'll have a good cry regardless of the music. Hope you're not suicidal. then maybe you need to talk to someone and get some help! cheer up no matter how bad you think you have it someone else out there has it worse than you do. So, count your blessings not your worries. Take Care!

Well, IF I were to listen to a sad song when I am already depressed, and I am not sure if it's really sad, it would be Jesus Take the Wheel...but I can't imagine why anyone would listen to sad songs when they are depressed. You should listen to upbeat, happy songs to get you OUT of the depressed mood.
