To turn into a fraction just put 15 over 100. Such as:
15/100
Then, reduce. We know that 5 is a common factor, so start by dividing the top number (numerator) and the bottom number (denominator) each by 5.
15/5 = 3
100/5 = 20
3/20
Since 3 and 20 have no common factors, this is as reduced as possible.

remember how we can read the decimal 0.15
0.15 is 15 hundredths. or 15/100
5 goes into both 15 and 100, so 15/100 is the same as 3/20.
No further reduction can occur.

0.15 is the same thing as 15 hundredths....
hundredths sounds like hundred... that means you can write it as a fraction over 100...
15/100
15 and 5 are both divisable by 5... so divide the numberator and denominator by 5...
15 divided by 5 = 3
---------------------
100 divided by 5 = 20
the new fraction is:
3
----
20
No other number divides into both 3 and 20 evenly so the answer is 3/20

Easy trick....the number of zeros that you use in the denominator should be the same as the number of decimal places in the original decimal.
Therefore since 0.15 has two (2) decimal places, the denominator would be 100
The numerator would just be the number without the decimal point or 15
15/100= 3/20
