It is only advisable to remove any part of the body (particularly one which produces a major hormone) if it is causing a problem (such as cysts or tumors).

No, not unless there is serious medical necessity. The ovaries produce hormones that a woman needs all her life. If you have cancer that necessitates the removal of ovaries, okay, hormone replacement can be given. But if it's not medically necessary, it's much better to keep your ovaries.
