Ponyangel-

You are being teased a lot for worrying about your future several years earlier than most people do. It kind of blows away a lot of people who are in their twenties and still don't have any idea of what they want to do. Actually, I think it is fine, as long as you leave yourself open to change should you learn new things about yourself or the world before you get to college. When I was your age I "knew" that I wanted to be a junior high school music teacher. When I finally realized that, while I had a really good music education experience when I was in school, most schools weren't like that at all, I had a very hard time imagining myself doing anything else, and I dropped out of college twice before finally deciding on a career.

I am assuming from your question that you are now in Florida, so your college and grad school choices are rather local. By the time you get to college, make sure that you go to the best place you can possibly get into, because vet school is extremely competitive, and you have a better chance of getting in if you went to a really strong undergraduate school. Consider other parts of the country for possibilities - places like Kentucky and others where you can stay close to horses, but which have a strong reputation.

My little sister went to college in South Dakota... I don't recall the name of the school, but it was an Equine program. She decided on her career the first time she got on a horse. It's never too early to think about your future!
