Sort of. I was coming out of Starbuck's in North Canton, Ohio one day when a bunch of cars pulled up quickly to the curb. Tiger Woods stepped out with a bunch of security. He plays every year in the World Series of Golf in Akron, Ohio and stays at Glenmore Country Club in North Canton. He walked right by me. I nodded and said, "Hey." He nodded back and said, "Hey." That was it.

Sort of related: I was an undergraduate at Kent State University and was in a class or two with another famous golfer, future British Open winner Ben Curtis.

That's all I've got. I don't really care too much about the whole celebrity thing. I've met a few famous writers, but I doubt that many of you would know or care about that.

Five or six. Film directors Paul Morrissey (Flesh,Trash,Heat) and Leni Reifenstahl (Triumph of the Will); authors William S. Burroughs and Mary McCarthy, and I actually got reasonably well acquainted with Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon. Terrific guy. Leni was a complete creep,Morrissey was very cool,as you expect of someone from the old Warhol crowd,Burroughs was distant but courteous and McCarthy was an extremely nice person.

OJ Simpson, jogging down Sunset Blvd at 5:30am. Iwas waiting for a bus. I waved to him, he stopped, and gave me an autograph. This was in 1980, and he had about 4 bodyguards with him.
