its about welfare, it says that people on welfare should have to pass a drug test before being allowed to collect as some people have to pass a drug test before being able to collect a paycheck from their employer
what do you think ?

I know children are a huge concern, if parent(s) are drug users and are denied assistance, someone outside of the home could call Child Protective and the children could be removed from the home.

Yes. My dad used to spend our welfare check on cocaine, leaving us no grocery or rent money.
As for everyone saying it would punish the druggies kids...Who says the parent was going to spend any money one their kids anyways? I'm a perfect example of that.
And for people saying it would be insulting to non-users...
no one would be insulted, unless they were doing drugs, and were acted offended as an exuse to not take the test. If you clean, it should be no problem.

Nice idea, but impossible to administer. A million new drug tests every month in an average size city. Yikes!

I am in PERFECT agreament with Black is the Kiss of Posh(first answer)!
any1 who uses, would be upset of the testing, thoes who dont, shouldnt care!
I know one little girl, she's 4 now, her mom's a J-U-N-K-I-E! She used the girls's dad's child support to get drugs, and sold toys/diapers/CLOTHES for more money....and the girl lived with(and still does) her AUNT too! That is abuse if you ask me. Now the girl lives with her aunt, uncke and cousin and is just fine after being born to a crack addict and alchololic!

It wont fly, at least not in America......
You cannot punish the child for the parent's sin.....The children have constitutional rights as well, and not giving them material support that they may be entitled to, breaks the principle of " equal protection" under the Constitution...

I think that would be fair. However, one must realize that drug addicts can often get SSI. The important thing is that the drug addicts get help for their drug problem.

That would make their kids go without food and other things, sounds like a dumb idea to me.
