1. The Golden State Warriors defeated the Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the 2007 NBA Playoffs.
2. The Detroit Pistons took out the Dream Team Favorites (Shaq, Kobe, Karl Malone, & Gary Payton) L.A. Lakers in the 2004 NBA Finals.
3. The Miami Heat coming back (after being down 2 games) to demolish the Dallas Mavericks in the 2006 NBA Finals.
The Dallas Mavericks were the clear favorite in both series but they clearly choked and allowed the underdogs to walk away with the victory.

NC State Beat Houston (Drexler and Olajuwon) in the National Title game...they never played Georgetown for the title.
Finals Matchups, early 80s
1980 Finals - Louisville over UCLA
1981 Finals - Indiana over NC
1982 Finals - NC over Georgetown (Worthy/Perkins/Jordan)
1983 Finals - NC STATE over Houston
1984 Finals - Georgetown over Houston
1985 Finals - Villanova over Georgetown (an upset equal to the NC State win over Houston, as Georgetown was the defending National Champion at the time).
Someone already mentioned Chaminade over Virginia (and Ralph Sampson), PERHAPS the most surprising upset in regular season history... if it's not, it's way up there.
The 85 finals was really the biggest upset...as far as tournament games go.
Chaminade over Virginia was the biggest upset, period.
Golden State over Dallas is not that big a deal..it wasn't the first time a #1 lost to a #8. Besides, we're talking the Dallas Mavericks here.

1. Villanova stuns Georgetown
The eighth-seeded Wildcats shot 78.6 percent (making 22 of 28 field-goal attempts) -- including 90 percent (9 for 10) in the second half -- to stun defending NCAA champion Georgetown and Patrick Ewing 66-64 in the 1985 NCAA finals.
2. Nuggets embarrass Sonics in 1994 NBA playoffs
Who can forget the image of Dikembe Mutombo lying on his back, kicking his feet in pure joy, after Denver knocked off Seattle in the first round of the playoffs, the first No. 8 seed ever to beat a No. 1 seed? Denver had been blown out in the first two games of the five-game series, but rallied to win the last three, including Game 5 in overtime in Seattle.
3. N.C. State over Phi Slamma Jamma
Lorenzo Charles' putback of Dereck Whittenburg's short 30-foot desperation shot at the buzzer in the 1983 NCAA finals left N.C. State coach Jim Valvano running around like a maniac, looking for someone -- anyone -- to love.
4. Golden State over Dallas Mavericks
Pick a storyline, this series had it all. Golden State becoming the first No. 8 seed to beat a No. 1 in a seven-game series. Coach Don Nelson getting revenge on his former team and bitter enemy, Mavs owner Mark Cuban. The Warriors winning their first playoff series in 16 seasons. Baron Davis, on a gimpy hamstring, pulling a Willis Reed to score 20 points in the Game 6 clincher.
5. Golden State Warriors over the Washington Bullets
1975 NBA Finals
Golden State (48-34 in the regular season) swept Wes Unseld- and Elvin-Hayes-led Washington (60-22) in four tight games -- two one-point victories, a six-point win and an eight-point triumph. Rick Barry was named Finals MVP.

i dont remember what year it was but it was definitely after 2000.... it was an nba playoff game between the nets and the celtics... not only were the celtcis the underdog the were down 36 points in the fourth quarter when all of a sudden the celtics comeback to win the game but they still lose the series that was probably the most shocking game i ever saw

Most unbelieveable NBA game: 8th seed Warriors beating Mavs who won 60+ games, first team 8th seed ever beat 1st in a 7 game series.
USA getting beat by Purto Rico and Greece last year.

Probably the Warriors beating the Mavs this last NBA postseason. If i had to choose one game out of the whole series I'd say the Warriors second win in the series because that showed that they can dominate them and the first win wasn't just a lucky win.
Many felt the Mavs would win it all. But nope, out in the first round.
