So I'm a cheerleader at my highschool and this year the new uniforms are the regular top and short skirt, but the bottoms are thongs?! Most of the girls wanted this and like them. I feel a little akward cheering and flipping around in a mini-skirt and thong. My coach said to wear the thong or quit the squad. What would you do? Any other schools doing this now?

I am not sure they can make you do that. I am almost positive they cannot force you to wear 'suggestive or revealing' clothing at school.
Pretty sure there are rules in place to prevent that.
This seems like a fake question.

I hope this is a joke. I've coached cheerleading for over 10 years and not only have I never heard of this, it is inappropriate and I would be surprised that the administration would allow such a thing.
I'm guessing that you are being asked to wear the thong underneath your uniform briefs (spankies, whatever you may call them). If that is the case then as the thong is not seen I don't think it is an issue.
However, on the off chance that this is not a joke, you need to bring this up to the school administration.

call the police!!! or just go with nothing on under your skirt...even though i think it is a great idea, it cant be legal. i would be goin to a lot more high school sporting events. do u have a nice body so u can wear these thongs?? u need to take some pics of u in the uniform to make sure what i truly believe.

That's horrible! I was a cheerleader in HS and with all the flips and stuff we did, there's no way I would wear a thong underneath. I would not want any seeing my bottom or do I want a wedgie the whole time! I would take the issue to higher up if I were you.

There has to be rules again something like that. Just like a b-ball coach can't kick players off for not having sex with them, a cheerleading coach cannot force their squad to wear thongs. I find it unbelieveable. Go to the schoolboard.

There is no way you can be required to wear something that does not cover your bottom. Considering how revealing a normal cheerleading outfit is this is over the top.
This either has to be a joke question, which I hope it is, or you need to get your parents involved and make the school force a change.

If my daughters coach EVER put thongs on her for cheerleading, he would be out of a job. You need to tell your counselor about this before your 1st game, because i promise when all the parents see them he will be FIRED, or the school will be sued. It is very unapropriate for high school.

Where do you cheer??? Just kidding, tell your cheer leader coach you will bring this up at the PTA if she doesn't let you change. And if that doesn't to it call your local paper and tell them about it. I guarantee they will run with the story and cheerleading coach will have hard time explaining herself as well as keeping her job. They CAN'T make you were something that you may think sexually offensive and they can't kick you off the team for it.

i would go to the school board and let them know what the coach said to you. I don't think they would want you flipping around in a thong

You should tell your mom about this.
There is NO WAY that you should wear a thong and show your butt cheeks in School. The parents need to get involved and kick that lesbo coach to the curb.
Sounds like she is just trying to get a free look at your butt.
