Who are the artists (creative people) here? What kind of art do you do?

I do pastel art - people and sometimes animals. I love to sing and I try to write songs sometimes.

Do you hang out with other artists? Does you family love it or hate it that you are an artist? my family has always hated it.

Gypsi G - take an art class - get back into it...that's what I'm going to do. Same situation as you! How can you teach your child to persue it if you don't make that example of yourself, right? good luck!

Whatever suits my fancy. I have a creative streak a mile wide. I'm in my late 30's, so growing up, artist abilities weren't encouraged...as people didn't see a need for them as a way of supporting ones self. Unless of course you were exceptional. Both my mother and my father both have artistic abilities...my mother ignores hers and doubts herself. My father was able to put his to use painting murals on vans and motorcycle gas tanks, later becoming a tattoo artist. I wish I had been encouraged more, because when people see my stuff they always like it, but I've spent so many years pushing down my abilities, its hard to feel the need. Though I still feel the urge I never follow through. I fully plan on encouraging my daughter should that be her choice of professions, just so long as she's happy. Her father too has artistic abilities. He currently is starting a profession in photography.

i don't like taking art in school since teachers always want to perfect your art - and your art should be from the heart. I've always learned to stop when you feel your done - don't push it because it could get messy.
I've failed a lot of art classes because teachers don't understand my philos.

But I do hang out with my friends who like to draw and take pictures and such.

My family loves it that I'm so creative.

I draw caricatures and sing Italian and traditional songs. I do both of these for fun
Caricatures: I do this well & love it, but no inspiration visits me
Italian and traditional songs: I admit they are the only kinds of songs I have a good voice to sing but I am usually bored of them

I don't hang with artists except for my cousin. I am prejudiced twds artists, I find them snob or eccentric. My cousin isn't so, and he 's my cousin, can I stop talking to him if we don't argue first?

I draw, do graphic art (basically drawing on the computer). I also do urban art (graffiti, but not on buildings), I also draw animals. I don't really know any other artists to hang around. My family liked it, cause I used to get art awards as a kid.

I make tiny figures/figurines out of PC and electronic components by soldering them together. I usually make them appear as though they are doing obscene things. I am also a sketch artist, and I compose music/write musical notation.

My family loves my creations, they're very supportive. They just wish I would do something with my 'talents'.

I don't hang out with anybody.

I wrote a novel. Hanging out with other writers dealing with what I wrote about would be very cool, but I don't know any. Maybe I ought to look up whether there is a local club or something...

My family thinks it's cool, and in fact they're avid readers themselves who were very helpful.

I work in several mediums, both digital and conventional. I can't *not* create; genetically, I got hit from both sides. Dad's an inventor with a couple of international patents. Mom's a published poet and juried artist. And that's just in my immediate family. ;oD

I came from a family of pianists, and artists. My very own sister illustrated text books and taught oil painting. I content myself with doing counted cross stitch.

I am an artist. I love painting with watercolor - usually scenic, or wildlife pics. I also love photography, and am a Graphic Designer for bread n' butter.
