2 things you can do- and I know one works for sure-
they hate the smell of peppermint- any extract will do-
Go to the store and cook up some chicken livers- gross as it is, but this is cheap and attracts flies in seconds once you set out the cooked up gunk- they will all go to the chicken livers.
you can either place them on a paper plate inside a opened flat trash bag, once they all land on the livers then you quickly lift the bag and tie it up and toss it in the garbage, or you can trap them under something and take it outside then toss it in the trash.
Something must be attracting them, I know even where we are the flies this year are awful and tend to get in the house some how- but I would check around and make sure no animal like a bird or something got into your walls or anything, this attracts them as does food or any waste that is in decay mode.
But try the chicken livers and reason I know is I cooked some up for our dog 2 times in the past 2 months and both times I had the empty pot in the sink ready to wash and in only seconds I had about 10 flies on the kitchen window lurking to get in. I shot them with the water sprayer and closed the window and washed the pot, they are nasty (gross) little buggers.

If they're fruit flies (tiny, black, slow in flight), toss out any ripe fruit you have sitting around and they'll go away.
We get large flies in our house every spring. I just kill them one at a time with a tissue. After a fly lands, sneak up on it slowly with the tissue, then quickly pin it against the surface. Gather the fly up into the tissue and squish it with your fingers. I have to do this at least five to ten times a day during fly season.
You could also try one of those hand-held electric swatters (looks like a small tennis racket with metal strings), but the kind of flies we get are very hard to hit in midair and are often immune to the electric zap. I have much better luck with the tissue method.
Of course, if you have any food or garbage sitting around, be sure to clean it up.

get a couple of empty glass jars and fill them about halfway with apple cider or wine vinegar (any sweet vinegar, not white). put a drop or 2 of dishwashing soap in each. cover them with plastic wrap and secure with rubber bands. poke holes in the top. the vinegar will attract the flies, but they won't be able to get out. they'll drown in the vinegar.

fill zip-loc bags with water and hang them all around your house. Im not sure why but it works!!!
I have a covered deck and I hang them all around it. It keeps them out so we can have a pleasent get together!
Good luck!
