with my first pregnancy I was so sick I lost 30 lbs in the first 20 weeks, so there was never a worry about gaining too much.

With this pregnancy I have had to be more careful. I have gained only 15 lbs, and I am 36 weeks so its all good. I eat alot of fruit and salads, but I love them anyway. grilled chicken, fish (in moderation), and lots of water. rmember, you only need an additional 500 or so calories a day while pregnant, its not an excuse to overdo it.

With my first, I was underweight. I ate what I wanted, which was a lot of pickles, McChicken sandwhiches, and tomatoes with ranch dressing. Didn't seem like a lot at the time, but I gained 65 lbs. Took me a year and a half to lose it.

Now, I am 26 weeks into my 4th pregnancy. I am 5'7" and weighed 188 at my first prenatal appt (6 wks) I lost 5 lbs in the first 20 weeks, and have now gained back the 5 lbs and 4 more. I guess it isn't a big concearn, as the Dr hasn't said anything. I really don't eat a lot. I eat smaller portions through the day and a regular size dinner. The only thing I am doing different is that I don't eat as much red meat. I can't stand the taste of it.

While pregnant the first time I actually ate more but nothing special and just not a ton of junk. I only gained about 32 lbs and lost it all by the time the baby was a month.
I did however gain it back over the next year by staying at home too much with a baby.
I'm that much heavier this pregnancy but not at all worried about gaining too much. Just eat like normal. Maybe make a few switches for healthier versions. You don't need to "diet" per say as much as not go wild.

I have gained about 24 pounds during my pregnancy and we are at 37 wks 4 days. Mostly all i have done is eat smaller meals. I have eaten whatever i want, but i have not had super cravings for chocolate etc either. One of my cravings was for a nice green salad with grape tomatoes, cucumbers, shredded cheese, onions, peppers etc with blue cheese dressing. Yumminess. I have had cravings for pasta with sauce and spaghetti with butter and shredded cheese. When i had the cravings for pasta sometimes i would eat half a box by myself, but i would not be hungry for most of the day after.
Just take it easy and don't eat a whole box of cookies or a whole cake etc. I have not done much of anything for excercise. The doc said if i didn't do it before not to start doing it now. We went for walks for a while, but then walking on anything but a level surface for more then 5 minutes or so started hurting. Even walking in walmart for grovery shopping starts to hurt. As for hurting i mean the muscles near the bottom of my stomach they get tight.
Anyway, I drink water, milk, juice and sometimes soda. I eat ice cream here and there, the doc is happy with my weight gain so i am not worried about it.

OMG, my normal weight is 130# I am 5'8" tall

on my first pregnancy, you name it I ate it. Ice cream, soda, pie, cake, chips, chilli dogs. pototoes everything.

I gave birth weighing in at 260# WOW!!!! I know I was huge, got pictures to show it.

After she was born, I didn't eat those things anymore, I just ate normal. Played with my new baby and the weight just came off mostly on its own. I have 2 kids now, I was overweight on both and I still am a size 6 130# and 33 years old. my kids are 9years and 7 years.

Keep in mind, it takes 9 months to put on all that weight, you need at least 9 months to loose it too.
