I had a Friend called Deiter at school, his mother was German, I always thought it was a German male name.

I have heard of this name 3 times
The character Aunt Dita in the kids programme Heidi in 1978
Dita Von Teese= Marilyn Manson's wife
Deiter Krap (not joking!) who was,in the 90's , a worker on the channel DSF when I used to watch the then WWF Wrestling . The name would come up in the credits & me & my dad would laugh at his surname!!
