The dracaena answer is correct. It's also know as a dragon tree. They're very tough and easy plants to care for. They like life a little on the dry side, but don't ignore them. Feed them regularly. The only pest I've ever seen on them are mites, but a good shower every once in a while is usually good agains mites. They are pretty heliocentric ( I think that's the right word) so if you leave them pointed in one direction for a season, the trunks will bend towards the sun. You can get some very nice contortions and twists in the trunk if you're patient enough.

I've seen it, but I didn't know the name...sorry. I just wanted to say that I was horrified to see that you were using terracotta saucer on your hardwood floor! I strongly recommend you to get a plastic one, because terracotta isn't water proof. It might ruin and make a water mark on your pretty floor. Sorry I didn't know the name of the plant, though...

Dracaena...Water it when the soil gets dry. Stick your finger in about 4 inches and if the soil is dry then water it. Can't go too wrong with Dracaena. Keep it in indirect light, too.

Draceana marginata Wait until the top inch of soil dries out. They hate wet feet. RScott

the 'let it dry out some' advice is right on!... if it gets too much water, the trunks get soggy and they cannot hold up the greenery so well and they'll end up with their heads on the floor!!!....
