I'm more likely to end up in the witness protection programme...or in the defendants chair..."I swear your honour, it wasn't me! I was only helping that sheep through the fence, i don't care what it says...c'mon, are you going to believe something that uses it's hair as a jersey..."...
:-)

Yes. I have been called for jury duty several times. If I had to choose, I will take federal jury duty. Pays the best. Federal paid $40/day plus mileage, meals and parking. For the county they paid $8/day which didn't even cover parking.

I was on federal jury for a week. It was a trademark infringement case. Before the defendant was even able to present their defense the judge threw the case out. The judge decided there was not enough evidence to convict based on evidence presented. After the case was over, the jury was told that the plaintiff wanted to ask us questions. We found out then that 13 previous lawyers had turned this guys case down. A poll was taken of the jury and everyone of us stated we would have voted not guilty because of the lack of evidence.

It was a long boring week though.

Yes. I was going through the jury process and the case had to do with a litigation against a major rail road company and asbestos company. I was pulled off the jury due to my medical back ground....so was everyone who had medical experience. I found out that the family that sued won millions.

I was called in the next day for jury duty for another case. I was chosen. It was about an abusive relationship. We had to decide from evidence if he did in fact physically hurt her. We the jury found him guilty.

Three times, and once for federal jury duty. However, I've never had to serve on the jury.

Yes more than once. In the early 90's I spent 6 months on a Grand Jury...I think everyone should do this job at least once.

I even have been called up for jury accountability two times. the 1st time I under no circumstances have been given on a jury. the 2d time i replaced into chosen to serve on a criminal case. It in basic terms lasted 2 days and that i replaced into no longer sequestered. i'm happy I served. It replaced into very thrilling to make certain how the court equipment works in genuine existence.. all of us would desire to serve if callled except they have an extremely sturdy reason. that is our accountability.

Yes, I am the only person that I know of that got out of doing Jury service. I was 39 weeks pregnant and my doctor wouldn't let me.

Nope. I've heard a rumor, I don't know if it's true or not, but veterans are taken off the list. For what ever reason, but I'm not to worried about it.
