Okay ... I think you're confusing Neil Diamond with Neil Armstrong. I don't think there was any singing in THAT particular mission. There is footage of some astronaut singing a parody of, "Strolling through the park one day..." during one of the later Apollo moon missions.

Yes, he sang "Marvellous night for a moon dance".
Well he would have sang that if he had been the one who went. But last time I checked Neil Diamond was not an astronaut. However I am unfamiliar with his early career!
Try Neil Armstrong - although he did not sing, he did utter some very famous words

NEil ARMSTRONG walked on the moon
Neil DIAMOND wrote hit songs, and had a great voice. Still sings, I guess. Should've done more duets with Barbara Striesand, though.. They were awesome on "You don't bring me flowers"

Neil Diamond only walked on the moon when he'd smoked a REALLY big doobie.
It was Neil Armstrong who made that one giant leap for mankind.
(Wizjp -- cute answer!)
(Demonslayer, he only sings Sweet Caroline for the seventh inning stretch at Fenway Park these days!)

Absolutely - he did a cover of the song Sinatra sang so beautifully - "Fly Me to the Moon".
Fly me to the moon,
Let me play among the stars
Let me see what life is like on Jupiter and Mars
In other words - please be true
In other words - I love you...
Don't let these so-called "smart" people tell you different! In fact, there is a large hunk of cheese (which we all know the moon is made of) in the Smithsonian cafeteria freezer that Neil snuck back from the moon in his undies (I think it has been labelled "Fromunda" cheese).

No, it was Neil Young, he was singing "Rockin' in the Free World", . . . or maybe Neil Sedaka singing "Breaking Up Is Hard to Do"?
No, no, no, it was Neil Finn of Crowded house, he was singing "Better Be Home Soon".
