As an Ivy graduate, I can tell you that it will not affect you in the least to not go to an Ivy. The Ivies like to pretend that they're the best of the best and that the only successful people go to them, which is completely untrue. What makes you a successful person is your knowledge and, more important, the passion and heart you show in the pursuit of your goals. A lot of Ivy students aren't really talented; they're just really rich. Maybe against a talented Ivy student you'd have problems, but that's true of competing against ANY talented student ANYWHERE right?

So my short answer is to not worry and to make the decision that will make YOU happy. If this school will make you happy then you should go. The Ivies are great but only if you want to be there (and there are lots of students who don't want to be there). As for "prestige" being affected, yeah it probably will but only marginally so. What people will really care about isn't related to the prestige of the school. I don't expect you'll have trouble finding a job, and once you have a job, your performance will be what determines where you go in life, and not where you went to college.

Good luck with the admissions process!!

May I ask what school you'd like to go to?

Honestly, a good school is a good school whether its ivy league or not. When you go to apply for a job afterwards they are going to look at your education yes, but also at YOU personally. An a$$hole that goes to Harvard wont get a job over a bubbly personality who went to University of Whatever. Many people go on to be extremely successful without going to an ivy league school... heck, half the time the curriculum is the same... ivy league schools just cost more.

If the school you want to attend is accredited, it will get you many of the same jobs as the ivies. After your first job, people won't look at your transcript, only that you have the degree and your previous job didn't can you and you don't have a prison record. Of course, if you're a pro football player or rap star, having the prison record could help.

If you can get into the school you want to attend, go to that one.

More people get turned down by the Ivies than accepted. Graduate from any good school and your chances are good. Learn how to spellcheck, first, though.

Touting a school name does help you get a job, but as concerned as you are about your academic career you should be fine.
Just make sure you do well and take advantage of all the resources at your school. Trust me you'll be really happy once you get to your university and meet your new friends.

I'm 15, and my mothers and fathers allow me have one however freak out if I say the littlest factor approximately speakme to different persons... there don't seem to be as many pedophiles on the planet as mothers and fathers appear to feel, do just what I did whilst I used to be thirteen, make the fb account and be certain to solve your looking historical past now and again

Ivy league schools may have a little bit of a pull, but they don't just look at what school you went to. They look at many things like:
-Grades
-What type of classes you took (did you challenge yourself?)
-Extra-curricular (were you a leader? could you handle school AND an out of school activity?)

They don't look at where you've been, but what you've done in school to try to map out where you're going.
