Im actually not to unhappy about this situation.
1) Perhaps the British interrogation sorry interview techniques might be slightly more effective, unless Kate has been briefed in advance to say no comment to everything.
2) and I think this is more important. As native English language speakers, Kate might find it harder to just bat away the questions. In Portugal, by the time the question was asked, then translated, then re-translated back to Portugese, some of the meaning, and also the expression and demeanour of the person in question is lost.
As an example, if the police say to her:
Why did you run back to the apartment and not take your other children with you?
They will be able to immediately tell what her body language is as the question is processed by Kate.
As much as I wish they were being hauled back to Portugal, Im kinda not against being interviewed by British police, it might make it harder for Kate to simply avoid the tough questions. And if she does, then at least both the Portugese and British police will know that something well dodgy is going on.

The Mccann get a new PR team this weekend and now THIS. The evidence says - blood, hair, smell of death. You can mess with one or two but not all three. You cannot dismiss the evidence. Ok, lets say is was not them. There is still serious evidence of foul play. We cannot just ignore this. We cannot follow the emotion we must follow the evidence.
How do we know about the poice offering a deal or the police dog video. FROM THE MCCANS. Yet they say they cannot talk. They are controlling much of what we see. The lst PR adviser were suggested by the home office. They have not yet been charged yet they are getting the most expensive law people and advisors around. And then... blame the portuguese for changing the focus from madeline.
Please be rational.

From the article:
Mr and Mrs McCann, 39, used their right as arguidos to remain silent when asked more than 40 questions about their daughter’s disappearance on May 3.
Further on:
A family friend said: "The McCanns are wholly innocent and know that they can explain every point that the police may wish to put to them.
"There are wholly innocent explanations to things the police may have found and they are confident they can defend themselves."
Also:
(Kate McCann) said in an interview with Portguese magazine Flash that although Madeleine accepted the arrival of twins Sean and Amelie, she grew fiercely jealous of the attention they received.
Further on:
Mrs McCann said: "She accepted the twins arrival very well. She managed to deal perfectly with this new reality although she herself at the time was still a baby."
Just from one article you can see the McCanns can't keep their story straight.

lets hope the British police ask for a reason why they thought they could leave 3 children under 3alone in a unlocked apartment while they went out to eat drink and socialise, and then make them face the consequences, and also have the other couple questioned who left their child alone who was unwell...they have to answer for their actions,Madeleine was abanded by these two ,what happened is their fault....

i think of they have achieved the two. They helped by making it regular, yet i think of it became too properly-regular, in case you get what I propose. All this exposure, especially the attention to the attention, means that the abductor won't take her exterior for concern of her being acknowledged, so she will the two be held interior, or the abductor has had his evil way, and has killed her. all and sundry is looking out for her, that will advance the warning of the kidnapper. i think of that they helped by making the customary public attentive to her, yet they hindered it by exposing it plenty that the kidnapper won't enable her exterior, so there is far less threat of her being stumbled on. I purely wish and pray that she is stumbled on secure and properly.

I don't think the British Police will investigate much. This is a cop out. They are going to get away with it.

No, probably the only way to get the truth is to hook them up to a lie detector.
