I have been spending a lot of time on "answers" website espesially the Philosophy section. It is clear to me that more than 60% of the respondants do not believe in religion or faith what so ever.

My Question is this : When did we, the human race become so intellegent and advanced that everyting can be explained, including creation and afterlife ?

Basic principles are all of a sudden replased by assumptions !

Is this the dawning of a new era in spirituality or maybee the beginning of the end ?

I don't care about percents and other people- where my faith goes is always my faith and will go where I decide it to go no matter what others think.

Knowledge contributes to the finding of more knowledge, and so on, and so on... Things that usually start out as theories or ideas become laws or rules. If it satisfies the evidence and prior knowledge, we usually can conclude it to be true.

As for the second part of your question, I don't think neither of those have yet been explained, only theorized upon. We are very close to explaining creation: but this, the Evolution Theory, which has nearly been proved, remains to this day a theory as not to offend other religions. Afterlife will always be subject to one's own belief.

I don't understand the question other than as an argument from ignorance.

We have no idea about the afterlife. We cannot explain how the universe started. We cannot explain how life started (we do have some idea of what happened after it started).

We don't know a lot of things. (Why people support Liverpool Football Club and drink lager is beyond me, for example).

What does that prove? It proves that we are ignorant. Nothing more.

It is the beginning of the end. We are tricking ourselves that we don't need God or a consicous. It is just me me me myself and I know what is good for me. We want everything now and take control of everything without relying on God to provide for us. When prayer was taken out of schools (praying before school started) life in general went down hill. We can do better, we know better, and we are better became the motto. But we dont and never will. The future is something we will never learn until it has become the past.

The "old world" is fading and perhaps not fast enough for some. The time for Catholic and Buddhist priests to be celibate is over and they should marry; this is shocking to some, but not to others.

Someday we will all be willing to admit that most of what we know about Socrates comes from, and we have assumed the veracity of, his student Plato.

Ever been misunderstood or misinterpreted? Ever wanted to revise the expression of a thought?

Think about it...

We can't answer everything. Some people don't know how the world ends, but Christians claim they do, but even this is ripped apart by the unreligious and unfaithful.

All will work out in due time.

Worst of all, some of us can even spell words such as 'especially' and 'replaced'. And a few of us can even string together a noun and a verb to make a complete sentence.

But to answer your question: You seem to have the meaning of 'basic principles' confused with 'dogmatic tenets'. Or, worse, 'demonstratable reality' confused with 'belief'.

It is the begging of the end and the dawning of a new era. I just hope wisdom, insight, understanding and warmth is with us.

Religion is based on faith.
Faith is the virtue of being able to believe what you are told or what you read no matter how illogical it is.

That's a good question.
I'll vote for it being the beginning of the end.
