Marc Ecko bought the ball, now it's up to everyone to decide it's fate.
Does it go to the hall of fame-with or without a branded asterick or should he destroy it completely?

Since he basically cheated to get it, it's just another ball to me...not a record ball. I wish he'd write "cheater" on it and display it somewhere nice. :)

My thing is Marc Ecko spent 752,467.20 on the ball to make a statement. That money could have made a very positive and charitably point else where.

It's up to the owner to decide.

He should, if he has any money left, buy a nice glass or lucite case and display the ball in his home, or better yet, put it in a safe deposit box and wait to send at least two or three kids through college.
