Bob Evans on Middlebelt and I-96 is probably the best. As for local businesses as opposed to nation-wide chains, Leons on 7-mile east of Middlebelt serves a good, reasonably priced breakfast.

The original Pancake house in Grosse Pointe is the best, but its kind of a drive from Livonia/Novi. I think there is one on Woodward in Birmingham which I assume is close enough.

The Senate Coney Island in Livonia has good breakfast. You could also try Bob Evans and IHOP in Livonia too.
