Please tell me your thoughts on Curfew time for weekends. We live in a very small suburb and the School is the local hangout for about 15 kids, right smack in the center of town. Please tell me if you are a Teenager, Parent or somewhere inbetween ;0) Present curfew is 9:30.

okay, first thank you for helping me out!!! i guess now its my turn. i DO NOT THINK THAT U SHOULD HAVE HER TIME AT 9:30 ... BUT NOW THAT I HAVE A YOUNGER SIS( the same age) I KNOW HOW IT FEELS TO TALK AND TRY TO WALK!
i say this because as a young teenaGER WE LOOK on to other things, or other people that just u cant stop. i say 10-10:30 the latest! 10.30 might be pushy! but i will tell you from experience please do not place ur kid down, or attempt to block certaqin things, i mean just attempt to be very understandable even though we are not. its just that, that attitude will cause your relation to not split or give ur kid the idea of ever traying to do things on its own such as moving out or using... no one said that is ur current status, however we cant stop the world from changing or moving so just try to comprehend as well as lecture if correct.

Most towns have curfews of 10:00 on weekdays for anyone younger than 16. 11:00 on week days for those 16-18. Weekends 11:00 for anyone younger than 16, and midnight for 16-18. Those curfews are enforced by your towns law enforcement, and your parents can get in trouble if you are found to be out past town curfew.
You didn't state if the 9:30 curfew is for weeday/end, but you say you are 14, so 9:30 sounds good. maybe go to push it up to 10:30 when you are 16.
Until I was 16 I had to BE IN BED at 7:30 each night. It sucked hardcore.

i'm 14 right noww, and i dont have a cerfew.
it depends on where i am going and who i am with.
my parents know theyre are some bad kids my age in my town.
if your daughter is going to the movies and theyre not over until 10 yu may need to make an exception.
perhaps get her a cell phone so yu can keep in touch on the nights she goes out past 9:30

When I was 14, I didn't have a curfew- everything was decided on a case by case basis. 14 is too young to say- "go out and have fun until 12am." Believe it or not, kids need structure.

I think 10 pm is plenty late enough for someone that young to be out. My husband was strict with his kids. They had to be inside by dark (No matter what time of year it was) unless they were going to a friend's house, and their friend's parents knew my husband's rules. Kids tend to get into trouble if left to wander around too late.
