OK................Finally, some one with the ability to be an individual! I would be proud if I were you. You're mature in your thinking because you know your opinion counts! You don't have to do something just to be "like everyone else"! That is immature! I would not worry about your individualism! And you can only hope they will grow up fast so you won't have to think about it any more!

I'm an individual - repeat to fade
It depends on your view of individual - I can safely say I am an individual - do you know any other teenagers that read 1 - 2 books a day but spends all their money on clothes and going out with their friends and still gets good grades?
Everyone is different, and therefore and individual, even if they and their friends are all dressed exactly the same (take note, pre-teens of Bluewater!)

Hey kid, let me tell ya this, you weren't alone when you came into this world and you sure as hell won't be when you leave. You can stanfd by yourself and that;s okay, it's good to be different and all that, but the bottom line is ,there is power in numbers and groups. People hear you when there is more than one voice. You ever try to argue with 3or4 females at onetime, totally futile. But my whole point is you can be an individualist or whatever and think the rest of us are sheep. When the **** hit's the fan you'll need those same sheep at some point in time, Peace Lone Ranger !!

The country finds it easier to deal with sheep (they are easily lead). The schools think it is smart that all of the children wear the same clothes, and conform to the same patterns. The Individual is down, but not OUT.

There is very-little individualism left because people want to fit into groups and don't want to be the person on the outside. Usually (or at least from my findings) the person on the outside has less friends than people on the inside, so the desire to have a lot of friends also is killing individualism.

I live here and i bet your not what you say you are. If i was to ask do you do the same things like. Watch football and go to the pub to make friends and see whats going on. If you have a look at all the greats of individualism they tend to be dead before people try to copy them. Then it is no longer individualism. Try to be the same but different now that's hard.

I agree everything seems to be about fitting in with everyone else.I like alot of different music styles and fashion styles mixed in with my imagination but some of my "goth/metal" freinds make comments when im dressed differently and my "trendy" freinds make comments if I look punky/quirky in dress.I was told once by an old leather clad punk that i had nobuisness being at a punk gig cos i wasnt wearing punky clothes that night,I ended up telling him that i felt punk was about music not wearing a uniform .

You're an original just like everyone else.
Maybe the key is in not being so judgemental towards others. Just because they look the same doesn't mean they are. Some people like to blend (or don't care about clothes, etc.) because their individualism is INSIDE. I think you are judging people and being intolerant towards people that you don't really know.
FYI, I'm a freak, but not everyone needs to know that. I don't have to prove anything to anyone. I'm just me.

There is some individualism left. Not alot. I guess people just have this overpowering longing to fit in. Some people feel like they would have no friends if they didn't do certain things. The people you have to grovel for to have as friends aren't worth it. Alot of people don't realize that. I agree with you on the individualism thing.
LONG LIVE INDIVIDUALISM!!!!!!!!!!!!

not in the UK the government took that away from us with the help of all the human rights boffs.
it doesn't matter what the colour of your skin or religion, like it or not, you are described as British, well i'm sorry, but my skin is white, i was born in the UK as were my parents and those before them, so i am indeed English, but it is now illegal to right "English" (if that IS your culture) when filling out passport forms etc, as you can only put British, that, to me, takes my individuality well away.
