Any way to find out if boats were chartered off of Coney Island in the early 1900's?

Yes, an odd question. Looking for information about the possibility of the early 1900's a boat being chartered from Coney Island, NY which might've been used for astronomy purposes, and might've contained a group that had a child amongst them who would've been around 10 years of age, possibly named Caroline.
