If you do sports (especially cheerleading or gymnastics or dance wear tight clothing is a must!) then you should tell her it's easier for you to use a tampon because the pads scratch you down there. Tell her how it'll be more convenient for you to use and that you'd feel more comfortable and confident with them instead of pads. Also, if you're using thongs then I think you should deffinately use tampons or a menstrual cup - Those Carefree Thong-Liners are not strong enough for periods!

If she still isn't okay with the idea then ask a friend if you can borrow a few of her tampons to try them out and see if you can get them in. If you can, just walk to the drugstore and buy them yourself or ask a friend to buy a box for you and that you'll pay her back. Just tell the friend your mom won't let you have them but you need them, she'll understand! Best of luck!

Well, anyone who is old enough to have a period is actually old enough to wear tampons. The fact that tampons are worn inside the vagina means nothing. One doesn't lose her virginity wearing tampons, perhaps that is what she is thinking about.

If you feel comfortable trying them out, talk to her. There is nothing inappropriate with wearing a tampon.

How old are you?

I wore tampons at age 11 and I am 33 now and NOTHING is wrong with me.

You also need to wear more appropriate jeans that aren't that tight!

Tell her that you are much more comfortable wearing tampons than pads. My mom acted upset when she found out I was using them (I was 15), but got over it. Tampons have easier clean up and much more flexibility (meaning you can do almost anything with one in). Best wishes!

If she lets you use thongs she should let you use tampons. But anyways, if I was you I would buy them myself, and hide them from her.
