I will echo the previous 2 posters and say Iran.

Brian when did Iran leave the Middle East? Do you have some information we don't?

I'm not sure what your point is.

But there were a couple of interesting points in that article.

There used to be 80,000 Jews in Iran. Now there are only 25,000. In other words, in 28 years, the Jewish population is only 31% of its original size.

Another interesting thing: Israel's Jewish population is 5.6 million. In other words, Iran's Jewish population is only 0.4% of Israel's. And its the second largest in the Middle East!

Maybe a better question would be why was there a relatively large Jewish population there compared to many other Muslim countries with formerly large Jewish populations? One may think that the former regime was relatively (word used deliberately) tolerant regime that was relatively pro Western. Being replaced by an Islamic theocracy explains the 70% reduction. Still being an Islamic republic explains the risk in being publicly for moving to Israel.

I know of many educated/affluent Iranian jewish people in the U.S......
but I never hear of them going back to vacation in Iran....

I would believe they were smart enough to know when to leave....
and I would have to envision that article as artistic license
(it must be true!....it was on the internet!)

Seeing as Iran is not in the Middle east I will say maybe Lebanon.........

Middle East is an inexact term and since Iran was part of Persia I, for one do not consider it part of the Middle East.......

But my dear, you conveniently leave out the bit of added into that this is largely a propaganda move by those lovely Iranians. Most of the Jews have strong family ties there, and the ones who have indicated that they want to leave have been arrested and/or shot.

You're a sneaky one, you are, but an anti-Semitic troll nonetheless.
