The Emerald Tablet is an ancient artifact that reveals a profound spiritual technology.
Nobody seems to know for sure where it came from, or who really wrote it.

No. The ones found by Joseph Smith were written by Jewish-descended Indians that floated to America from Arabia on a boat in around 600 BC. He translated these plates by virtue of two Divinely-provided divination tools: 1. Seer stones in a hat -Smith would put the stones into a hat, look into the hat, and the words would flow into his mind from the Spirit of God. His scribe (Martin Harris at first, then later his wife) would listen and write. 2. The Urim and Thummim -This tool was a breastplate. Attached to this breastplate were two seer stones and a pair of spectacles. His scribe (Oliver Cowdery by this time; I wonder why he didn't use the U&T right from the start if it was with the plates) listened and wrote down the words as he spoke them, being corrected by Joseph Smith if he wrote them incorrectly. Even still, though, there had to be 4012 changes to the text to clarify meaning. The U & T were left by Moroni in the hill by Smith's house with the golden plates. It's amazing to note that the Indians had the technology to make spectacles in 421 AD, when they were buried. Since such ancient spectacles have never been discovered anywhere else in America, they had to come from God, and Joseph Smith has to be a true prophet.

You are not the only person to wonder if there is a connection. About 8 years ago I had a dream about it right after I read the Mormon bible. In it I saw that this knowledge had been inscribed on many tablets all over the world, some were buried. I also saw that people that looked to be Mayan buried one on the dry land close to the everglades, around Miami somewhere, on land that was solid before the everglades was drained.

No. Smith "found" gold plates, not an emerald tablet.

The Mormon tablet was gold... but as both are imaginary, I'd say they could be the same.
