Hi im currently in year 10, 15y/o, and in the British school system. I've been assigned a peice of coursework which is entitled "writing to entertain". I've decided to write a story and have thought of what i consider a good idea. I was wondering whether i can have an email address of someone who is willing to help throughout the peice but not to do it for me but instead advise me. I would also like if people can post pointers how i can write a story to the best of my ability. I've chosen to post this as a last resort as English is quite possibly my weakest subject and my teacher can be best described as "USELESS".
Thanks, look forward to reading your ideas

Ok, in response to your response Lisa T, i'm not asking you to do my homework for me and least of all ask you to call me lazy. I'm asking for pointers for helping me right the best story possible. If i was that lazy would i even be asking you? No.

hi i don't know how good I am at writing stories but im doing creative writing with english it university i start in a few days. i love english:)
anway, advice first of all start by thinknig of an idea, if its coursework you may want to not write about going out with friends or anything like that, ( you may know that sorry if you do) hink serious material ok. either start with an idea, a character, or a scene, see where it takes you, write about the character for a bit. think about what you liek to read about or what interests you and use that to help you with your idea but tyr not to copy anything already published or tv or movies.
plan it briefly, allowing yourself to change it if you want.
if you use long words, you know stuff like diabolical, exquisite this will get you marks as well as general spelling etc
if you want me to help you further i will just email me, if you go onto my profile you can gt my address, write in caps in the subject bar so i know its not spam. i will help with general stuff but it is your work and it will be better if you do a lot of the work, ill give you tips and pointers thats all after all its coursework.

I always think the best way to write a fictional story is to think of the characters in as much details as you can and write them down aon a piece of paper. Then think of your story line and do the same.
If you get lost when writing it or confused as to which character is which you then have a quick reference guide to go back to.
Another way (if you are better at drawing) is to use a storyboard like they do in the tv shows or movies and draw out small scenes for your story as a guide for you to progress the writing through the storyline.
Hope this helps

think of a story line - maybe something you have seen in the movies or on tv. Then make it entertaining - thoroughly explaining emotions involved.
i.e. she stood in the dark corridor, i felt scared as a shiver went up my spine, i dont know why but it just the thought of walking alone through this dark corridor. I took a deep breath and took one step forward.........
Use something like that and remember to explain - gosh story writing is so easy - you just need to think of a story line.

Just write about something you know. The last party you went to when someone did something stupid, a trip you went on, something that makes you laugh.

Write about something funny that really happened to you. Not only will people be entertained but they will be able to relate to it.
