Ok here is my question, for One I am not Superstitious. The reason I am saying this is because either in the morning, afternoon, or evening when my family and I are leaving to go to work, school or wherever this black crow would be standing right outside right above us not exactly on our roof top but across from our doorway from our duplex. Now the crow never bothered us it was just we would notice him standing there watching us. Some people say that he was protecting us or something like that I am not too sure what it meant. Can someone tell me what they possibly think that resembled about the black crow and all?

I would view it as a good thing. Birds, regardless of there species, are generally regarded as good luck and good protectors. It may just be looking out for you and your family. Say hello to it everytime you see it, aknowledge that you see him, and thank him. Weird, I know, but trust me.

Not a big deal, there is food in the area and it is waiting for people to be what it regards as a safe distance away from it before landing to eat it. Probably one of your neighbors feeds it.

AwaitingWolf; There are no crows guarding the Tower of London, there are ravens however.

Could also be that the bird's nest is nearby. There is a nest right out of my office window (on the 6th floor) and one of the parents is almost always hanging around the exit.

Now, if it were a Raven... well then, I would be forced to ask if you saw it once upon a midnight dreary, while you pondered weak and weary, over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore...

there are three possiblities to why he is there,
1. like you were told, he is guarding you, in the olden days crows where often seen as guardins to hunters, due to the fact that the crows helped the hunters know if danger was near by, by their cries of warning. also now they are still the guardians of the tower of london.
2. it's an omen, like the grim, in the medievil times crows were often associated with witchs and evil.
3. he's hungry and he's looking at you for food.

I would be more concerned if it was a white crow.
