I don't care about the ban and the fine -- I just want to know how those pants stay up. Guys, as a rule, don't have much in the way of hips. So what's the secret? Duct tape?

I think it's silly. I do NOT wear my pants like that, but we don't need to make laws against it. I can think of a million more things that are more offensive than sagging pants. What about people who go outside, but haven't bathed properly? They should be banned. What about public flatulence? That should be banned. What about people who are over a certain weight, but wear clothing under a certain size? They should be banned. (No one wants to see their flab).
While we're at it, why don't we ban old people from trying to wear 'hip' clothing? That's just sad. Let's put them out of their misery by giving them a ticket.
We have way too many stupid laws. Young black males (who are largely the ones who are wearing their pants like this) have enough police attention, whether it is merited or not. Let's not give the police the job of going up to each young man with a ruler and measuring exactly how much of his underwear is showing. I'm sure those cops could be doing something a bit more useful...like catching REAL criminals.

I think it's ridiculous to apply this outside of schools which is what the GA is doing. I'm an adult and I can wear whatever I like as long as my flesh is covered. You may have whatever personal problems with the style that you want (I personally don't like it either) but if we're going to ban saggy pants, let's go ahead and get rid of those wide belts that they're calling skirts these days too. Let's also get rid of tight sweater sets. Let's also nix the stiletto heels and the super tights jeans because those are obviously just a distraction. Let's go ahead and ban hair extensions as well as all make-up products because, frankly, people are wearing make-up way too young, look way too common and if I see one more milk/dark chocolate colored chick wearing a bright, orange blonde weave I'm going to snatch it out of her head myself so let's ban that too. Get my point? It's a slippery slope and once you let your government start dictating what you can and cannot wear on your body you're just asking for future problems. Today sagging pants, tomorrow who knows.

not surprising
if it does not fit society's idea of normal then it must go
what bothers me is that this is mainly young black guys in most places
there were no bans against goth dress or emo dress (not that I felt those should be banned either)
it is just like the banning of "grillz"
honestly, i don't care for that look and don't like it and would never let my son dress this way
i think school is a time youth should be able to express themselves and as long as I didn't see the boy's underwear (which goes beyond expression into just plain YUCK) I personally don't care
yes, schools should encourage "dressing for success", but some expression should be allowed
if there are problems of competition then yes, a ban is in order in school clothing, to my mind
i guess what I am trying to say is that i disagree with the INTENT of this and that it is aimed at a specific group of people

We live on a farm in Rural Missouri.
My 15 year old step son is the onlyperson in the whole community that wares his pants in the "SAGGY" style,
This weekend he was embaraced when a 42 year old woman walked up behind him and panced him at a local Mall.
So I think it is a great Idea.

It's could be a good and bad thing. I think the government is getting too involved with people and their daily choices. I feel any government who spends time to make a fashion rule should be fired. I also think this is another reason to throw Black men in jail. Yes, other races sag their pants, but that doesn't mean they will face the same injustice as Blacks. Thumbs down all you want, I do not care. I see a lot of things I don't want to see, but that doesn't mean I should make it illegal. Understand? If I see Alex with some dingy *** socks should I make it a law not to wear dingy *** socks in my state? It's too much...
As for women who wear these low rise pants and show off their thong, butt cheeks, butt crack, etc. - that sh!t really needs to stop. But...I won't make it illegal.

I totally agree. We dont want to see someones butt crack, if so we would hire a plumber to sit under our sink all the time...its disgusting. Who cares if your boxers are up over your ***, I dont want to see your underwear either. Pull your pants up get a job and find some clothes that actually fit.

When a girl was kicked off a flight for dressing too promiscuous on an airline that was trying to be more family friendly, every one was outraged!!! This is a COMPANY, they can run their business the way they want to, she can find another flight!
When the GOVERNMENT wants to control how people dress every one is happy with the decision, because they disagree with the style!!! It seems like when it comes to something we like, we're all for "FREEDOM", but when we dislike something, Freedom goes out the window!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?!
Some people need to be locked up by the fashion police, BUT NOT LITERALLY!

Don't have a problem with it at all. I get tired of seeing the kinds of undergarments people are wearing. What is even worse is that I see people sagging and they are wearing a belt. Pathetic.

Personally, I think its stupid. People should be able to wear their clothes however they want. What if they banned girls from wearing tube tps or mini skirts cause they show too much skin? Ain' t that some b.s.?
