The truth, of course. Then again, I don't spend my day playing solitaire or surfing the web. Then again, I'm a consultant and work for myself so my "boss" is actually my customer. But the same idea holds forth. Don't do anything on the company dime that doens't benefit the company.

I got along great with my boss. I'd just look right back and swear a lot about my project. He'd leave.

I look him straight in the eye and say "The report you asked me to put together" then I ruffle the pile of papers at him that have been sitting in front of me since last week showing him what appears to be progress when, in fact, I've been farting my time away answering questions....

Last time he asked me that I replied with " Stop being so nosy don't you have peoples lives to save?" I'm a doctor...he's a doctor too.
