Okay, so I'm doing a fanfiction about Teddy Lupin from the Harry Potter series, and it includes a scene inside the Werewolf Registry... I know it's a long shot, but I don't have the slightest clue what a place like that is supposed to be like. Does anyone have any creative suggestions? I'd be very appreciative of any interesting details... Thanks in advance!

Ha! I didn't say Teddy was a werewolf in my fanfiction. The Registry is just involved.

It seems that places like this are very bureaucratic. There should be a waiting room where no one is in a hurry, a counter with various forms for the applicant to fill out and a sleepy clerk who moves at a slow, deliberate pace. There should be signs instructing visitors what to do ("You need to have your paw print registered downstairs before applying!", etc.), posters for werewolf awareness, maybe some pamphlets to take for reading later. The place should be low-budget, like a government office that is low on the list to get funding. It should be closed for days around the full moon to avoid a problem in the office. Because it is, there is not a lot of security needed, which is good since there is no budget for that anyway.

Teddy Lupin isn't a werewolf according to Rowling, but this is your fanfic so think about what his father had to face. Even though Kingsly Shacklebolt is the new Minister of Magic, werewolves are still going to face prejudice and be outcasts.

It would probably be dark and musty. The ministry worker might be behind bars "just in case". Teddy's not a werewolf, though. Is he just looking up information on his dad?
