If it was on the last day of your microgynon then you will be having a period within a couple of days. The injection will be working from the end of your period.
As it was the last few days of the cycle before the period, the chances of pregnancy are very low. There is 14 days before the next egg release is due, so the 14 days are automatically covered for you.

When I started it they told me 24 hours. I have been on it for a year and other that some side effects that havent been too too bad like crazy dreams, acne (went away after the first 6 months) migraines and moodiness its been good. Just give it a chance at least thru the first 2 doses. The first dose and part of the second dose might suck, but give it that third dose it gets alot easier.

I was told to use condoms for two weeks though it is effective immediately.

phone your local family planning clinic, they provide more information than your gp can. I believed it was 14 days if not given during period, so i always covered myself for this.
