I need to make room in my bench for a backup WR. I only have 4 bench spots. I was gonna drop one of my backup running backs (Cadillac Williams & Marion Barber) but they did too good for me to drop. So I need to drop one of my defenses.

Vikings or Broncos? I'm leaning towards Vikings...

Also I'm going for Wes Welker for my WR, he's a FA.

I would keep the Vikings defense because they probably have the easier schedule. Check who they play for the next couple of weeks and they decide.

Tom C. is either joking or doesn't realize Welker is with New England and has caught about 15 passes already... problem is he's buried among five WRs that will all catch some passes.

But I have him on a couple teams and wouldn't hesitate to plug him in if I had to.

I would drop Denver before Minnesota. The Vikings have three defensive touchdowns in two weeks - clearly a pace they won't keep up, but might as well ride the hot hand. The next couple weeks they have games against teams that can be prone to mistakes in Kansas City and Green Bay.

Good luck.

I would stand pat if I could but if I had to drop one defense I would drop the Broncos defense before I drop Minnesota. Have you seen what the Vikings defense has done the last two weeks? Granted it has been against the Lions and the Falcons but they have looked pretty impressive so far. Denver gave up 20 points to the Raiders yesterday @ home and gave up 14 to the lowly Bills in week 1.

Tough decision. Both defenses are good. Why not pick one yourself and see how it goes. Then you wouldn't be relying on morons like me to pick for you.

Wes Welker for WR. Why ? He plays on a poor team with a QB who had his bell rung and may never be the same. They have no backup QB if he goes down. Did you see MIA this last Sunday ? I did because I live in the Dallas area. Trent Green is a great human being but right now it is painful to watch him play quarterback. Dallas had 4 INTs and this from a defense who is banged up and who gave up 35 points to the NYG last week. Aren't the Giants favored to win this year's Super Bowl ?

Don't you guys ever do any analysis of these teams and matchups ?

The Broncos will be unable to stop the run all year. The Vikings will shut down ANY run-first team.

Take Minnesota as the standard.

You got bookend problems.

Minnesota is always in the top 3 in stopping the run and offenses always try to pass on them exclusively.

Denvver has the opposite problem. Their defensive coordinator is only associated with top 3 pass defenses, and judging from the preseason anyone can run on them.

I'd keep Minnesota as the start against bad passing teams.

They're both good. I would probably keep Denver, but they have a slightly harder schedule.

Why not trade one?
