I equate it with murder. If I felt like murdering some one the government would be compelled to stop me and punish me. No difference in abortion.............

I have always been for choice. Then, once my son was born, I had a completely different perspective. I would hope that anyone considering abortion would think long and hard before making the decision.

That being said, I do not think morality should be legislated. Women should have the right to make their own decision.

I don't think anyone actually "likes" abortion, including and especially those of us who are pro-choice, but I think it's important that this be a decision between the woman and her own beliefs and circumstances.
I've counseled friends who have gotten pregnant in the stupidest of circumstances. This nation has some of the most puritanical sex education in the world and as a result misinformation runs rampant. Why we shouldn't know everything of how our body works and how to avoid pregnancy at and before the age this becomes possible is just totally criminal! We are held hostage by religious folk and they are totally to blame for our abortion rate ironically.
One of my friends was told by her lothario that she couldn't get pregnant during a full moon, another in HS actually douched with coca-cola on advice of another friend and ended up with a hellacious yeast infection as well as a hellacious pregnancy that ended up in a painful ectopic miscarry. Another guy said he'd use the rhythm method when he meant withdrawal, then there is the "i had a vasectomy" story from the guy who was married, but not to my friend, who he had proposed to!!

I had sex ed from 4th grade thankfully, and parents who I could talk to - I find I'm an anomaly to say the least.
I know and you know that guys will tell a girl anything to get her to give him that momentary feeling of pleasure and it's heartbreaking that it ends up in a not so momentary misery for a girl, either because she keeps the baby and cuts short her education or she makes the painful decision to abort and then is made to feel guilty for this. How many men have you made to feel guilty for getting a woman in the predicament where such a decision has to be made?

Both political sides are being hypocritical. The government should neither encourage or discourage abortion. The only laws should be limited to medical safety.
The mother and her family will do a lot better without interference from church or state. Pro-Life and Pro-Choice people need to butt out and leave people and their doctors to their own consciences.

I think it is the greatest tragedy to befall the US in my lifetime.
I have seen in my 40 years the American family disintegrate into ashes.
I have seen countless children grow up in poverty because they are being reared by only a mother. When I was a child we rarely saw this.
I have seen the proliferation of sex shops in neighborhoods where only impoverished women and children live.
I have seen television descend into an entertainment unfit for children.
I have seen women and men set themselves up as enemies, instead of working together.

I literally cry for our children. Because we are teaching them that money is god.

ADDED: If by "both sides" you mean women and men, then yes, both sides are being hypocritical. Republicans have come out for LIFE. Now, let's address the hypocrisy.

It is a very sad thing. Death is NEVER a good choice for a developing baby; being born into a 2-parent, loving home is. Adoption is a viable choice.

Our Constitution does not give us the right to abortion as legislated in Roe v Wade.
States should legislate abortion as they choose or not.
Personally, I believe abortions are horrible choices.

It's genocide of millions of innocent, harmless, little babies.

Any one who supports this insanity has a problem in the head.

How many of you baby killers know that the babies actually suffer while being harshly aborted?

It's so sad.

im pro-choice for the first 2, maybe 3 months.

im pro-life after that, because anything beyond that point is murder.
