Life and death, energy and peace. If I stop today, it was all worth it. Even the terrible mistakes that I made and would have unmade if I could. The pains that have burned me and scarred my soul, it was worth it, for having been allowed to walk where I've walked, which was to hell on earth, heaven on earth, back again, into, under, far between, through it and above.

Tao Te Ching verse 29

Do you want to improve the world?
I don't think it can be done.

The world is sacred.
It can't be improved.
If you tamper with it, you'll ruin it.
If you treat it like an object, you'll lose it.

There is a time for being ahead,
a time for being behind;
a time for being in motion,
a time for being at rest;
a time for being vigorous,
a time for being exhausted;
a time for being safe,
a time for being in danger.

The Master sees things as they are,
without trying to control them.
She lets them go their own way,
and resides at the center of the circle.

I found this one on the net. My book at home offers a little different interpretation but the message remains virtually the same. Basically, this one helps me to honor and respect the world as it is, not the world I wish for it to be. I believe true change begins within and that it is our decision to either embrace the world for what it is or reject it and suffer from our own contempt.

i dont know if its a quote but i think this: learn by every new experience. i think whenever i do any blunder which i keep doing i draw strenght from this statement. i know it has a negative, it makes me sort of complacent.
