I understand what you're saying. It's okay to say that you're proud to be Black/Hispanic/Asian/Arab or Native-American etc. But if you say that you're proud to be White a lot of people will think that you're a racist. I don't think it's fair either. I'm a White male of Irish/English/German heritage, & I'm proud. Don't let other people tell you that you can't be proud of who you are.

The only reason for this association is that rascist groups have used the term white pride. This us unfortunate but it is the condition of things at present.
It would be like if I liked nationalism and socialism and decided to start a movement called the National Socialist Party (NAZI)
People would believe that I was a bad guy just from the association of the name.
Of course you can have pride in being white, of Euro-descended ancestors, there is nothing wrong with that.
You just have to be creative and say it differently, like Barbarian Pride or Pink Pride~

i think of this is because of the fact non-whites already assume that each and every physique white all and sundry is proud to be white besides. there is in all threat a stereo-variety with a white person proclaiming to be proud as for this reason of the white hate communities that have been maximum vocal of their delight of being white. i'm white, yet i'd prefer to experience extra delight in being an American, the place the ideals are meant to be delight for all races. no it is elementary to help what race they have been born, yet I choose that no count what ethnic history you got here from, in case you have been born and raised or became a criminal citizen of the U.S., which you will experience delight for that.

I guess I always wonder (and to be fair, I wonder this about the other 'color' groups too) - why is it that you don't have anything more important to be proud of than the color of your skin? Do people run around making clubs around being blonde? Or tall?
I mean, haven't you more important things to crow about?
Yes, I understand people sometimes get in your face about how they are 'different' in this way - like their skin color defines who they are or more importantly, who they can be. In doing this, they've already cut themselves off from so many possible choices. Not a good idea. So ... be different. Focus on something you've accomplish (or can accomplish) that matters in life, not some characteristic you were given for free at birth. If you define yourself by the day you were born, you're not going to get very far.......

It's messed up, but you can't change the way people think in one day. it took hundreds of years for people to accept african americans, how long do you need? instead of starting a 'white club' start a club with one of your ethnic backgrounds, instead. like, for example 'german club.' or 'irish club' but, you know, 'white' isn't really a race. it's a skin color. you could be black, and be british. so, you can make a club for people who are one of your backgrounds.

its great to be proud of who you are. although you do have to be careful how you go about this. I am spanish/irish. very proud, I dont go around with a sense of spanish/irish pride, just pride that I am who I am. its a fine line between white pride and racism.History is History. As long as you dont go around saying white power. I say be proud of who you are.
god bless.

It's all stupid. Having black white, brown, etc. is just as logical as having freckle pride, brown-eyed pride, sickle-cell pride, etc.
Having pride in accomplishments and character, not inherent traits is what it should be about.

because white culture was the dominant and abusive power for so long.
yes, things are changing, but some old wounds remain. I would respectfully suggest that the pleas we hear such as yours are interpreted (sometimes correctly, but maybe not always) as a call to return to the era of complete white domination. The fastest way to enable the healing, in my opinion, is to be strong enough to put aside calls for white cultural niches for now, until more healing is done.
