Since moronic celebrities decided they know more about politics than politicians do... and the sad thing is... SOME people believe them!
Listening to the likes of Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O'Donnell, Alec Baldwin or Leonardo DiCaprio on ANY topic besides entertainment is ludicrous. They are not political experts and they really don't know what they're talking about.
Next thing you know, we'll have Tom Cruise wanting to make military decisions because he once played a Navy Pilot.
(oh, for the record, if I were a famous actor, I'd refrain from making ANY such statements, telling any reporter who asked me that I defer to the people who DO that for a living. Political views can kill an actor's career.)

People have a first amendment right to free speech. That doesn't include misusing the public airwaves for political speech during what is supposed to be an entertainment venue. If some actor or musician or anyone else wants to make a political speech, they let them pay for the air time and talk away. They have a right to speak and we should have the right to be entertained.
Do these people not care that there are families with loved ones in harms way who would like to escape for a little while into the fantasy world of red carpets and designer gowns only to struck over the head by the reality of war by the likes of Sally Field? It has gotten to the point that these poor families can find no escape. The news, awards shows, sit-coms, dramas, reality shows, rock concerts etc. They are all infected with the same liberal POV and the viewer can do nothing but either shout at the TV or listen to talk radio.
Why is that? If you are in the entertainment business and I am paying to see a performance either by sitting through endless commercial messages or paying admission, please keep your opinions about politics or any other unrelated subject to yourself.
Where are we going and why are we in this hand-basket?

It's irritating to hear the yap about free speech. These are people who are using their fame and celebrity to bolster a political party on a famous awards show. It's sickening and should be stopped. It They wany to support a candidate they should do it LEGALLY, and not use the show as their personal soapbox. The Emmys producers should be ashamed and outright cutoff the political BS no matter how it looks. Once the cutoff some of these nitwits mid speech they might stop being so selfish.

When the actors started to believe that their exposure to the public combined with their money allowed them to push their beliefs on people when all the public wants is for them to keep quiet, look pretty and come out with a new movie. Tom Cruise is the biggest offender of all - I refuse to EVER pay money toward anything he is in ever again.

i do no longer even watch them because of the fact it style of feels somewhat ridiculous to work out millionaires rejoice one yet another with some over the acceptable bash that they do no longer definitely choose in my opinion. the place's our social gathering of the people who extremely deserve it and could savor it greater? (instructors, firemen, policemen, nurses, docs, legal experts, corporation proprietors, etc.) the people who're acceptable of their fields and do lots for individuals yet don't get the popularity they deserve. i do no longer locate an actor inspirational. of direction actors are political because of the fact they are in a corporation that's cutthroat. they are in a union too. It would not situation me in the event that they communicate out. that's only their opinion. i'm helpful if we had that style of ability then we'd use it too. i be attentive to that i could. i'm outspoken because of the fact I care. If I stayed silent then what? that's like doing no longer something. i'm helpful that their intentions are helpful. we are in worry. we are in an excellent kind of debt that our young toddlers are going to pay for too yet they did no longer do something to deserve it. it is not trouble-free. they might desire to be outraged. while they understand then they are going to be. i became into outraged in the time of Reagan and being advised that the government owed lots funds. Reagan and Bush are terrible Presidents. They tutor what the lack of ability of a sturdy preparation and actual attempt on their factors can do, the destruction. Reagan dropped out of school. That explains lots. i do no longer recommend to get off the concern. Politics is a pretty emotional subject count number. It impacts all individuals in many distinctive approaches. some human beings do cry for the government while issues are going very badly interior the indoors maximum sector.

Since the public began to pretend what entertainers opinions are.
Frankly, their isn't a celebrity that I care about enough to want to hear their views, I just want them to entertain me like the trained puppets they are.
Same for sports stars. There will only be justice when Football and Basketball players make less than a High School math teacher. Frankly, none of them should make more than $50K a year, and that's being generous.

They should not be, at least not on my dime. When we pay people to entertain us, it is not their place to go on a political rant! Their job is to entertain. Now, if they want to buy air time for political views or go on news programs, or interviews and speak intelligently then that is the time and place.
We do pay them through the sponsors. I wonder if the sponsors condone their political views?

I think it really started when Moore got up there and bad mouthed Bush.
Since then, you've got oodles of celebrity's who think their opinions on politics matter.
I mean really, do you care who Paris or the Dixie Chix would vote for? Do they REALLY have sound political views? Why would they?

I guess you haven't been watching these shows very long.
They've been using the bully pulpit offered to them on these shows to espouse their 'celebrity' causes forever.
