Do you think it would be a good idea to have a democratic debate structured for military personnel , past and present ?
I haven't heard this suggested before , but if it has and there's any way to join in the support , please do give me a link . They've run the gamut already with other groups . Everything from Spanish debates to the Daily Kos !!
Anyway , I think that it would be a great idea to have a debate in Iraq. . . with the military personnel as the audience and as the ones who ask the questions .
Agree ? -- Disagree ? -- Why ?
And please don't list 'security' as a reason that they can't do it in Iraq , cause everyone of us already knows that countless congressmen and senators have gone there with no problem whatsoever .
Try to be fair and rational .

Mr. Lebowski - Satellite would be a better idea , I agree . So therefore , there's nothing standing in the way of this except for. . . .the democrats . So let's get this party started .
Oh , and be careful what you ask for .. . . you just might get it !! Smile .

I think its a good idea for both parties to do this. They wouldn't even have to be in Iraq they could satellite link it so soldiers from Iraq could ask questions to candidates here. However to say that having a bunch of American political candidates in Iraq for a well known debate wouldn't be an extreme security risk is a bit off target. The president goes in there unannounced for a reason.
I am with you on this believe me. Both parties. I do not know who I support yet in this election. Contrary to popular belief I have never in my life voted for a republican or a democrat for president and hope that this year I may actually get the opportunity to find a candidate from either side that I can support. I think that a debate involving the military could go a long way in seeing a standout candidate.

I saw what they did to General Patreus. I can't imagine how baseless and derogatory they would be toward the rank and file.
Besides, they'd have too much opportunity to give "orders" thru the chain of command to only ask questions which would allow the liberal agenda to show thru and do entirely more harm than good.
Besides, morale amongst our troops in country is already at an all-time low. The last thing they need is Hillary screeching at them about lies, deceit and baby killing.
In principal it's an excellent idea though. I'll star this question.

Freakin awesome idea Earnest!!! That would be absolutely fantastic...........but if the democratic candidates won't even go on FOX do you realy think they'll debate in front of the men and women they're trashing on a daily basis?
Dems don't even want their BIOS which contain their stance on the war released to military personnel and whine that they've been 'slimed' when the truth is reported:

It makes a lot more sense than the daily kos debate or even the gay.lesbian, trans-gender debate. Since the military is such a big issue right now this would make sense and how we use our military in the future.

Yes, however the questions would have to be from totally "unidentified sources" to prevent reprisals.
Even the military has their "turncoats", detractors, and such.
GRAND IDEA !!! And, if any politician did not wish to participate, that's o.k., just announce which politicians won't attend, since they have "other plans / obligations" ( such as accepting some lobbyists bribe-oooppps, sorry, Political Campaign Contributions, or maybe those politicians are busy drinking booze with their other alki's constituents).
I would gladly contribute to such a FINE program !!!

That would be a good idea in a perfect world.
The Military is not democratic. Do you really think a Soldier is going to give his opinions out knowing there could be punishments for this. The Military is not a freedom of speech profession. You do what they tell you or the consequences can be severe.

It's a great idea but it'd never happen. Dems only care about pandering for votes. They wouldn't want to be accountable for anything. Instead they choose youtube, speaking in spanish, and etc. Why would they want to face tough questions about the war when all they want is for us to fail. They've proven this over and over

Not a debate (this war has been politicized enough), but letting the military ask questions of candidates is a great idea.
I don't meet the parameters, but I'm answering anyway.

Its a great idea, but I'm sure it will never happen. I don't think the Dems would agree to it. They think they are too good to even be around our troops let alone debate in front of them. I love the idea, but doubt it will ever happen. Dems have already let us know what they think of our brave men and women in uniform. The picture is not pretty.

I think that is a great idea!!! That way the dems can come eye to eye with the enemy......I'm speaking of the US military of course...to the dems, WE are the problem and WE are the enemy...according to the dems, our military are rapest, are air raiding villages and are terrorizing civilians...so I think it only right that the brave dems running for President go eye to eye with their enemy and tell them what they think face to face like men.....and that includes hillary of course.
