In both cases, convert the mass of the solute into moles using the molar mass. Then, divide the moles of solute by the volume of the solution in Liters. That will be the molarity of the solution.

So, convert mass of solute to moles. Convert volume of solution to liters (divide mL by 1000). Finally, divide moles of solute by liters of solution to give molarity.
