I prefer not to give them money, rather, I will buy them a hot meal or give them a food package. In my car I have several pre-made packs of no-cook food items that are healthy and nutritious along with a cheap toothbrush and trial sized toothpaste and a comb.

A harsh reality is that a good percentage of the homeless do self medicate with drugs and alcohol and I would rather give them food than to feed them then give them money to buy drugs with.

"will work for food"?...THEN GO GET A **** JOB! Those people piss me off. If you have time to stand on the street corner all day holding up a sign that says you will WORK for food then you have time to go apply for a frickin job at McDonald's. It's like a rhetorical sign or something too cuz they say they'll work but they really just want you to throw money in their cup....

Never. I only give money to people who ask me for it. Just sitting there and holding a sign will not move me. If you are too lazy to actually ASK for your charity, then you won't receive it. The other day I saw a guy sitting on the sidewalk with a sign...and he was talking on his cell phone! Unreal!
