Get one of those flower atomizers, fill with water, very gently spray your face (mostly the brow) and allow just a trickle down the neck. I usually pull my tie off to one side. For all intents and purposes you look like you've been sweating. Reassure the boss that you're on it, and it'll be finished before you go home. They love that stuff!

But, it's so much easier just to really be busy,,,I've never tried to just "Look busy"..if there not enough work to do, I leave...I used to have a co worker tho' who was really great at looking busy..he would have taken the crown if one was available..he really had it down pat...gotta' give him credit for being good at something !

I'm an expert at pretending to work.....
I am also a boss and my employees pretend to work too and I know it but as long as they are getting their jobs done I don't care.
