Sorry to tell you this, but they probably will need to check "down there."
Here's what my physicals were like at your age:
The nurse takes you to the room and you strip to you underwear. The nurse measures basic things like temperature, blood pressure, height, and weight.
Then the doctor comes in and asks you questions about your health, whether you are sexually active, etc. You will also have an opportunity to get any questions you have answered.
The doctor will then examine your ears, nose, heart, etc. She will look at your skin for signs of skin cancer. The doctor will also check your flexibility and reflexes, and you might have to do a couple of little exercises.
You will take off your bra briefly to check your breasts (no exam, just a quick peek). You will then drop your panties and the doctor will just look visually to for pubic hair growth, etc. The doctor will also take a quick look at your rear or have you bend over for a scoliosis check.
You might also have to pee in a cup or give a blood sample if you need any tests.
I'm not going to say it will be alright or not embarrassing, but just remember that everyone goes through the same thing, and the exam is important for staying in good health.
Good luck, and ask me if you have any more questions.

Assuming you've already entered puberty, they probably won't. When I took my daughter in at about 9 and 10 years old (before puberty), the dr took a quick peek down her panties just to look for signs of pubic hair, but she didn't touch her. I think for the most part is just height/weight/blood pressure, maybe a scoliosis check. Good luck!

If you are going to your peditrician or a general practitioner, then no, they probably won't give you a pelvic exam. But, if you tell them you are sexually active, then they might refer you to a gynocologist, and then the gyno will more than likely give you a pelvic. Since you are only 14 years old and did not say whether or not you are sexually active, I would say no.

NO! I am 13 and recently had a check-up. They only check the usual stuff. Only when you have had intercourse may they refer you to a gynecologist if it is totally necessary!!! No to worry, my friend, because the doc won't check that. It can especially be embarrassing if the doc is a guy!!! OMGosh! That is NOT NOT NOT pretty! So don't worry. I had my check-up and physical recently. The is NO!!! NO!!! NO!!!

My kids only had height, weight, etc. done for their physicals. No one ever looked "downstairs" until I took them to a gynecologist for birth control. Our school required physicals for participation in sports and there's no reason to look at your female parts for that. I wouldn't worry too much.

i don't think they will do that at your age for a physical exam! normally it's 18 or 2 years after your first sexual intercourse.
