16x^2=121. Take square roots of both sides
4x = plus or minus 11
x = plus or minus 11/4

x = ± 11 / 4

x^2=121/16---------take sqrt
x=+11/4 or-11/4

You don't need the quadratic eq'n here, as there is no x-term:
Take square roots of both sides: +/- 4x = +/- 11, and so x = +/-11/4
