I have VERY irregular periods. I mean I only menstruate like 3 times a year. I have Factor 5 Leiden. Would there be a connection here? Has anyone had experience with these things? Any insight would be helpful. Thanks!

Alright Girly, I had to research this one since Factor 5 Leiden is not common. I love it when some one asks a question like this.....I would say Yes there could be a connection between the irregular periods and Factor 5, why because it's a clotting disorder. However, everything I researched suggest NOT taking birth control since birth control increases the risk of blood clots. Now my best sound advice is to talk to your specialist or your OB/GYN, for a treatment plan. This is not something you should self medicate by herbal remedies etc. I would also suggest asking your doctor for certain medications to stay away from. If you are to under go ANY treatment make sure the health care provider is aware of the Factor 5 before any medication is given.

IDK if there is a link, but pregnancy would be very risky for you. You need to go see a good gynecologist and get blood tests and other tests which will help determine why your periods are irregular. There are lots of reasons, one of which is PCOS.
