Uhm, it's not so much of a big deal. As long as you aren't missing it twice.. I mean I often missed mine while I was with my ex and surprise, no kid. If you've been taking the pill for a long time, missing it one day won't effect you really. You'll be fine.

Your friend is wrong about it not making any difference. You need to catch up on the pills to prevent ovulation.
While sperm cells can't live very long in the vagina, the ones that are lucky enough to make it up into the uterus can live there for a few days. So what you do now still matters in preventing pregnancy.
If you miss one pill and take it as soon as you remember it, you are still almost fully protected. If you miss more than one, you should use a backup method of birth control.
Now ... you mention that you take your pill at a "random time everyday". This is NOT SAFE. You are decreasing the effectiveness of the pill. It's important to get into a routine of when you take it each day. This is seriously important.
I'd recommend rereading the full pamphlet that came with your pills. It contains information about what to do when you miss a pill, and also instructions that you must take it at about the same time every day.

You need to take your pill at the same time every single day and if you miss a dose you need to take it as soon as you realize you missed it or for sure the next day along with your next days pill. You are putting yourself at greater risk of pregnancy by taking your pill so haphazardly like you do. If you cannot do better with taking the pill like it is meant to be taken then you need to see your doc about some other birth control method. For now wait to see if you miss your period. If you miss it then take a pregnancy test. You should not have any further sex without a condom until you have your period and learn to take the pill properly. If you haven't discussed an accidental pregnancy with your boyfriend I suggest you do this ASAP so you are both clear on what you want to do if you are pregnant. This is something that you both should have discussed before you ever had sex the first time though.

If you are actually concerned about becoming pregnant, then do your part and prevent it.
This means taking the birth control pill at the same time every day.
Set an alarm for yourself, whether its right when you wake up or before you go to sleep or lunchtime or WHATEVER. But I got pregnant doing what you are doing. I also had a misscarriage.
You should know, that if you DO get pregnant, and you DO keep the baby, the birth control pills will cause birth defects for your child. This means, when you are pregnant and you dont KNOW, and you are still taking the pills, you are already harming your unborn child. This is why it is recommended to stop the pill 3 months before getting pregnant.
Do yourself a favour. Take the pills at the same time every day, and go get a pregnancy test.

It depends on the woman. Some women can take their pill randomly and it will still work, some woman only have to miss their pill by an hour one day and it will stop being effective. There is really no way to know which side you're on until its too late, so try to get on a schedule. It will be more effective. If you're not mature enough to make this a priority, then you're not mature enough to be having sex in the first place.

In general, if you miss one day, you'll probably be okay. More than half the women who take birth control aren't "perfect" users. The rates of pregnancy is slightly higher if you don't take it same time, every day, like clockwork, but it is still sig. better than the rate of pregnancy for a condom. If you miss 48 hours (2 days in a row), that's when you should start to be a bit concerned and use protection for the rest of the month. I would try and pick a time, often coordinating with a meal or after you brush your teeth works best, because you'll be more consistent, and your period will tend to be more consistent as well.
Still, you're likely okay.

The pill is not 100% affective. Taking it at random times make it less so, skipping a day makes it even less so. Yes, you could be pregnant. I certainly hope not. You don't seem very responsible. You are not ready for a child. You have to use a condom too. STDs are no fun. You should be tested.

it deoends on the pill you´re taking, if you take a minipill; you have to take it in not more than 3 hours away from the time you take it; otherwise you should use a bareer method.
If you are using a combined pill, it is a much stronger pill and you won´t have any problem, if you take it every day, you have at least 12 hours to take a combined pill with delay.
Good luck! ;D

You should be taking it at the same time every day. Your friend is right, you could get pregnant taking your bc that way. I have one daughter because I was 2 hours late taking mine. My husband came home for lunch, we had sex, I got pregnant. I wasn't taking the mini pill either.

Better to be safe than sorry.
Get a morning after pill.
I'm 7 months pregnant, I was on the pill, never missed one and I still got pregnant.
If you are ready for parenthood, get to the chemist, Family Planning or GP.
