I've often found myself contemplating the fact that all the recent talk of "Global Warming" is just a way of making money out of joe public, though I beg to dream and differ I would really appreciate your opinion.

Thankyou

I write this question because after much research the world has always heat up and slowed down and I personally feel that the media is just capitalizing on it right now.

I think the planet is constantly changing climate ie the ice age.And it is just part of the cycle. The governments are definetley trying to scam us out of more money.
The smoking ban in England will stop people using pubs when the weather gets colder, causing people to drink at home. This creates more household rubbish. The government plans to charge us for how much rubbish we leave out. Then they call it being green.£££££

Global Warming; is it a lie? No. It is not a lie. We are experiencing a temperature increase on a global scale; in fact our SUVs are so harmful they are causing the problem to go system wide. That would be solar system wide as Venus and Mars, at least, are having warming issues as well.

Man made Global Warming; is it a lie? Absolutely yes!

The Sun goes through heating and cooling cycles. In about 400 A.D. we had a mini-ice age. It froze most of Europe. If you perform extensive research you will find that there were no automobiles or coal fired power plants at that time. In the 1970s we had Global Cooling and we would all be frozen to death unless we gave up our cars immediately. Well we didn't freeze. Then came the 80s and we were destroying the ozone layer and we all had to give up our air conditioning and quit launching the shuttle or we would all die of skin cancer by 2000. Well again we are still here.

Historical records indicate 1934 was the warmest world wide temperature on record. Man emits less than 4% of the problem gases in the atmosphere, cattle emit over 14%. Even the NY Times has admitted that we have doomsday weather threats about every 25 to 35 years. The man frequently referred to as the Father of Climatology has labeled the whole thing a bunch of bunk.

I have no idea what we as a planet did before any of us had heard of Al Gore. Anyone who can invent the Internet and save the planet from complete destruction has to be crucial to man’s survival.

Consider the source then follow the money and you will see the complete absurdity in this issue. These are people who know better than you, know what you need more than you, are infinitely more intelligent than you and will dictate how many times you may use the toilet in your home if you allow them to.

Just blow it off and when Mars starts to cool so will the Earth. BTW, that will be in about 3 or 4 years.

From most if your answers we can assume that most folk think it's a load of cr*p? I agree 100% with that, Esp' when he goverment see a chance of making money out of it.
The silly idea of this ozone layer which is supposed to be the main cause of the flooding, melting ice caps etc etc, is jusy completly unbelievable!!!
Let me give just one small example, (without wishing to bore you to death).
No doubt you have heard all about the ark that Noah built, (yes I know a biblical fairy tale)!
The story was actually stolen from long before the bible was written, and came from a very similar tale that the Sumerians used to tell, so we are going back about 4000 years before Christ was born.
Not many thermometers about then, 6000 years ago, not a lot of cars or package holiday flights, so couldnt have been much to do with emmissions could it?
Now some very clever fellers have proved that over the time we have been recording the earths weather it has been 'proved' that the temperatures are rising, how long has that been then, couple of hundred years????
This has got to be a joke????
OK back to this mythical flood 6000 years back ! Perhaps it could be put down as just that, a myth?
Not so, although the flood on the scale told in the bible has never been proved, it has been proved that there were indeed massive floods in the area of Sumeria around 6000 years ago, so what shall we put those down to??
And even more importantly should we be taxing it?
One more little thing before I finish this epic.
When I pay tax on my holiday flight because my plane is clogging up this 'ozone thingy' where does my tax money go? Are they using my tax to go up and stich up the hole in the layer or make it bigger, and how is it going to be done???
Is it some thing like the tax I pay on the car to keep the roads repaired, when are they going to start that project, repairing the roads ? They cant even do that never mind the ozone layer.
Hope this helps???

Let's assume it is a lie and you fell for it. You probably saved money by making upgrades to your residence (more energy efficient), vehicle (more fuel efficient) and lifestyle.

Either way it comes out if you were to personally make changes yourself in response to global warming it'd be a win-win situation. Also, if it's a lie at the very least it has almost forced companies to come up with these "green" alternatives making them affordable for the public (electric/hybrid car sales would probably be a lot worse than they are now if global warming was never mentioned, probably forcing these types of cars to not even be available for sale to the public).

No it's no lie ... and countries should get together to set good examples and isolate tose who don't .... though maybe sometimes the extent and speed of the effects of global warming have been misreported in the media - unfortunately it is the innocent later generations who will pay the price for our idiotic industrial excesses.

I believe there is global warming, but it's mother natures way as it was from year dot.

It is not man made as governments would like us to think so they can get more money out of us in the form of tax.

Did you know it was Maggie Thatcher who got the ball rolling when she beat the coalminers strike in the '80s by claiming burning fossil fuel harms the environment.

I agree with you. I do think it is natural, not to say that we shouldn't protect the environment . If it were true why are all the same people who scream about global warming the same ones who complain that we have not yet rebuilt New Orleans, since it would clearly be underwater again soon?

Global warming?! What are you, a Democrat!? If you ask me, which you didn't, the globe isn't any warmer than it was in 19-aught-3, when the Kaiser flew around the world in his solid good zeppelin. Ohhh, that was a sight to see.

Are we imagining the ever-shrinking Arctic ice cap? No! It is real. Temperature change causes that. What you really are asking is if the notion that humans are affecting global warming is a lie. I don't think it is. But either way, would it hurt to reduce your energy usage, and therefore your fuel bills? Of course not.

Global warming - and cooling - periods are cyclical, they've been happening for far longer than can be blamed on human influences. Boatload of Crap from Algore, who is just desperate to keep himself in the news and seemingly vital.
