1. No, I don't think abortion is right, and even in "life threatening" situations, there is hardly anything that a C-section wouldn't solve. Only in the cases of tubal pregnancies where both the baby and the mother are guaranteed to die if the pregnancy continues, the baby should be removed in one piece, along with the tube, to prevent future tubal pregnancies. That is the only medical reason I could see for ending a pregnancy.
Reasons for rape and incest are NOT legitimate excuses for abortion! Many beautiful people are products of rape/incest and have a perfectly normal life. Who are you to decide that they should have died?? Also, as a Special Education teacher, I can tell you that those born with disabilities are just as glad to be alive as you and me and are NOT "worthless"! God put them here for a reason. Any plans to eradicate them because they are "less than perfect" smacks of Hitler.
2. Out of selfishness and immaturity. Girls/women mostly do it out of not wanting to be "inconvenienced". They seldom look at what is good for the baby, or consider adopting the baby out when there are millions of people eagerly awaiting to adopt. To have an abortion with so many people waiting is selfish.
3. Yes, I have a 4-1/2 YO daughter.
4. White, female, 39

Yes. But let me note that while I support a woman's RIGHT to choose, I am not a proponent of abortion. Abortions have taken place since the beginning of time. The only difference is that when it was ILLEGAL, the only people who were entitled to SAFE abortions were wealthy women. If you had the money, the doctor quietly (and safely) did the deed - all others (poor, middle income) risked serious complications or death at the hands of back alley abortionists. I am old enough to have known a woman who very nearly died from a back alley abortionist - she is today an exemplary, loving mother and grandmother. Let's take the emotion out of the abortion issue and remember these facts - remember, too, that George W.'s college girlfriend had an abortion.
#1 reason: the woman is not ready to be a parent.
I am a parent.

Besides life threatening do you think abortion is right?
Yes No------It depends on the circumstances
If yes, please state when it is right to have an abortion??
I had an abortion when I was 17 because I was completely homeless and had no money, couldn't get a job because i had no where to live or any transportation. I tried getting help from the state but I didn't qualify, so I ran out of options.
What do you think is the number #1 reason why women have an abortion? Probably the same reason I did. Either they ran out of options and couldn't care for it, they were raped, or they were on drugs really bad and refused to get help.
Are you a parent, or soon to be a parent?
No
Background: Caucasian (White)

Besides life threatening do you think abortion is right? No If yes, please state when it is right to have an abortion?? What do you think is the number #1 reason why women have an abortion? Because they accidentally get pregnant due to not using condoms or any other form of birth control, so when they get pregnant they use the abortion as their form of birth control. Also many of these women who have them are young and are scared. Are you a parent, or soon to be a parent? No, maybe in a couple of years but if it is sooner than that it will be fine Background: Caucasian (White) Sex: m age:26 good luck on your essay thing

What do you think is the number #1 reason why women have an abortion? It's relatively unimportant why and has no bearing on my views.

Not a good survey as many of the issues and thoughts surrounding the questions are "boxed" into a narrow view. This is a good example of why you should never take survey results at face value.

I do think that abortion is a personal choice in in certain cases it is the right thing to do for that person. I personally have had an abortion when I was 15. I was raped by an uncle and I was too afraid to tell anyone. I went to the doctor for my 9th grade physical and my mother was with and that is how it got out that I was pregnant. I wasn't prepared for a child conceived from a case of incese so I opted for an abortion. I had been through enough.
I have always felt bad about it. I am now a parent of a 1yr girl. I still have issues. Like when she was born I always thought that God may take her away for the sin that I'd comited. But she is still here safe and sound. I am and African American Female 22 years of age. You are welcome.

I'm a 55 year old white mother of 2 adopted children. I don't think this is a yes or no question. there are circumstances when an abortion is probably the best thing, such as pregnancy from incest or rape or if the mother's life is threatened. there are times when it's not an option, such as a birth control method. most women have abortions because they can't handle having a child. either they aren't equipped to be a mother or they can't afford to raise a child.

No-No unborn baby has ever been aborted due to impending health issues of the mother. Think adoption or take responsibility for your own actions.
Lack of knowledge-All things legal are not in and of themselves representative of all things moral, ethical and of good character.
Yes
Caucasian-Male-Old enough to know the truth.
Some facts:
Society has legally killed, murdered, 48 MILLION unborn babies since Roe vs. Wade, for PROFIT, and the killing continues at more then a thousand per day.
347 known women killed along with their babies in America's death camps.
"Several years ago, when 17,000 aborted babies were found in a dumpster outside a pathology laboratory in Los, Angeles, California, some 12-15,000 were observed to be black." --Erma Clardy Craven (deceased) - Social Worker and Civil Rights Leader
Although black women constitute only 6% of the population, they comprise 36% of the abortion industry’s clientele. The leading abortion providers have chosen to exploit blacks by locating 94% of their abortuaries in urban neighborhoods with high black populations.
With 1/3 of all abortions performed on Black women, the abortion industry has received over 4,000,000,000 (yes, billion) dollars from the Black community.
In April of 1997, Life Dynamics began an undercover investigation into the marketing of body parts harvested from babies killed by elective abortions. http://www.lifedynamics.com/Abortion_Information/Baby_Body_Parts/index.cfm

No, I don't think it is right unless it is done under certain circumstances (for example if the pregnancy is a result of rape or is the woman is in a life or death situation). It shouldn't not be used as a from of birth control.
I really can't say what the #1 reason could be... maybe lack of morals.
Yes, I am a parent.
My background is Native American.
Female and 35 years old.
