All too often, folks consider responses rude and negative when they don't like the replies. If you're not prepared to hear from folks with other opinions, then don't post on a public forum.

If, however, someone has actually been hateful and name calling, report the abuse. This site has a very good system.

Some posters live by the credo "Don't ask the question if you don't want the answer." Some people are mean-spirited by nature, and these types of forums attract them. Askers become their punching bags.

My answers aren't always nice. Wouldn't you rather hear the truth than some sugar coated crap? I try not to be mean, but it doesn't always work out that way.

There is nothing wrong with looking all day through pink glasses. It's very nice. Everybody is right.
But if some wouldn't question status quo, and how wonderful it is, we would still be living in trees and eat leaves all day.
What one perceives as negative, is opportunity to think and grow for others.

i agree with that, however sometimes the answers people give are downright abusive and sometimes the questions are really stupid and insulting to people's intelligence. those people ought to stop setting themselves up for the other people who are just waiting for the opportunity to say something rude.i am sure you have heard the saying a stupid question gets a stupid answer. people should not be abusive and rude however people shouldnt be trying to be cute by askind questions that they know the answer to.

I agree. I mean some questions call for opinions and not everyone has the same, obviously but you don't have to express them in a rude manner. Also, don't go giving people thumbs down just to be rude.

It has been my experience that most of the people that make derogatory statements have their own personal issues! I look at their comments at proof of a mental illness they can't, or won't, control. So try to take pity on those who are cruel, for they need help!
