I only give thumbs down when I think someone was mean.

I give it when someone was abusive. I see people get thumbs down for questions where there are not wrong answers (like favorite colour). Don't understand that kind of thinking.

I never give them for disagreeing.
I give a lot when the person gives a factual answer that is really wrong (sort of in the 2 + 2 = 5 category).
I also give thumbs down sometimes when someone says in DIY that no one should EVER try to fix anything in their home even if the fix is simple and will save the asker a ton of money and inconvenience (because saving the money is why the question was asked).

I only give 'thumbs down' when I think that someone is being rude just for the fun of it when a person really needs help.

I give thumbs down if the person is totally wrong or just saying "I don't know" to get the points. I give thumbs up even if the answer is wrong but it's amusing.

If someone is mean and nasty or uses profanity just to use it, then I give them a thumbs down.
I don't give people thumbs down if their opinion is different than mine.

i never give thumbs down when some1 is wrong or the opinion is different than mine...whenever i really think that they're abusive or mean yeah at times do...

only if its a bad or really stupid answer! as far as opinions, you know what they say!
gave everyone a thumbs up! its stupid to do a down just because it is not your thoughts exactly!
